     Lesson 1: Credit Laws 4 mins,54 secs – Lesson 1 begins with a review of some of the basic credit laws that govern the sale of a motor vehicle. We begin with a discussion of credit laws because that is often where discussion of a motor vehicle sale begins. We look at the provisions of the Car Buyer’s Bill of Rights (“CBOR”) that impact the credit area.

     Lesson 3: Automobile Sales Finance Act 10 mins,58 secs – Lesson 3 introduces the Automobile Sales Finance Act (“ASFA”), also known as the Rees-Levering Act. AFSA governs the sale of motor vehicles in California. This statute requires that all retail vehicle sales be in writing, in one-document, and contain all the disclosures and information required by law, including compliance with the CBOR.  In Lesson 3 we continue our review of the ASFA, exploring the single document rule, deferred downpayments, and related ASFA issues.
